Verrazano Nursing Home is located on Staten Island, New York. It has 120 certified beds that have been approved by the federal government to participate in Medicare and Medicaid, with an average of 112.8 residents per day. In addition, it was noted that the facility did not ensure infection control protocols were followed. Specifically, while providing wound care to a resident, a Licensed Practical Nurse was observed on five different occasions either not washing her hands or performing hand hygiene. Also, it was observed that residents were not always provided with hand wipes or taken to wash hands prior to eating meals.

In the period from April 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019, there were no complaint inspections.

For staffing, Verrazano Nursing Home received a “much below average” rating.
